Your artwork stays with you

Paintings, timelapse frames, paint state and preferences are stored on your device. We do not receive your drawings, individual strokes, image exports or filenames. Sharing opens the system share sheet and sends only the item you choose to your chosen destination. Device motion is processed locally for the painting experience.

Saving to Photos

When you choose Save Image or Save Video, Pokeasel asks iOS for add-only access to your photo library. This permission saves only the painting or timelapse you selected and does not grant access to browse or read existing photos. You can decline and continue painting. Saving does not send artwork to us; subsequent photo-library syncing is controlled by your device and Apple account settings.

Optional usage statistics

From version 1.0 (129), “Share anonymous usage data” is on by default when no earlier choice has been saved. You can turn it off at any time in Settings; an earlier choice to turn it off is preserved. While enabled, we receive predefined feature events such as opening the app, starting to paint, opening the sketchbook or Pro page, and purchase/restore outcomes. Events contain app version, interface language, a random event identifier, a random session identifier and a random daily identifier. The daily identifier changes each Beijing calendar day. We do not collect a permanent device identifier, advertising identifier, Apple account, purchase receipt or transaction identifier, location, artwork or brush paths. Daily codes cannot measure cross-day retention or unique people across multiple days. These are limited pseudonymous statistics, not a promise that every combination is mathematically anonymous.

Cloudflare processes network connections, including the IP address needed to deliver requests and limit abuse. We do not write raw IP addresses into the usage database. Events are retained for up to 30 days and removed by daily cleanup. Pending events remain in device memory only, are limited to 100, and expire at the next day boundary. Turning the switch off stops future collection and sending, cancels in-flight requests where possible and clears pending data and local random identifiers. It cannot recall a request already received; received records expire automatically. No advertising or cross-company tracking is performed.

Payments

Apple processes purchases. Pokeasel verifies Apple transactions on-device and stores entitlement and consumable-credit records locally. We never receive card details or Apple account credentials. Restoring purchases contacts Apple. Optional statistics contain only a generic purchase outcome, not the plan, amount, order identifier or receipt.

Your choices and contact

You can use painting with statistics turned off. Export work before uninstalling; deleting the app can remove local artwork. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions. We cannot locate anonymous usage rows by an account or email address because those are not collected. This policy will be updated if processing changes.

This website

pokeasel.com is hosted by Cloudflare. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts, account registration or contact forms to this site. Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP address and request information, to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. If you email us, we receive the address and information you choose to send and use them to respond to your request.
